Attention

Everybody knows what attention is
- William James (1890)

Benjamin Libet

Cognitive neuropsychology and related sciences expressed great interest in the phenomenon of attention. Libet already proved in the previous century that our consciousness is not able to start actions from the body, but is merely able to stop them. He called this the "veto-rightt" of our consciousness.

Waar komt aandacht vandaan?

My research is not about selective attention, it is about the source of action. The ancient religions had several names for this phenomenon: appreciative presence, wu-wei (the art of not-doing). So this is about a research for passive attention, about awareness.
